SERVICE LEADERSHIP CORPS TRAINING

As a member of the Service Leadership Corps, you’ll have the chance to keep learning and growing throughout the year. These training sessions will be led by professionals, Mission Continues staff, or former members who can share their knowledge and experiences. You’ll get to improve your abilities in areas like finding and involving volunteers, building partnerships with community organizations, planning projects, taking care of yourself, and more. Each training will also be a great opportunity to connect with others and develop new skills.

Mission Ready is a series of virtual sessions crafted to prepare, support, and coach all Platoon Leadership Teams as you navigate the process of planning for the four National Days of Service of 2025! 

These virtual sessions are aligned to the phases of the service project lifecycle and the tasks included in Basecamp, our project management tool – enabling Platoon Leadership Teams to plan and execute high-quality service events. 

In a world where meaningful connections can make all the difference, the upcoming session “Cultivating Long-Term Partnerships” is your chance to learn how to spark relationships that leave a lasting impact in your local communities. Discover how to bridge the gap between your service platoon and your community partners by focusing on the assets within the community and your shared goals and values. This session will explore how a long-term partnership can amplify your service work and create ripple effects that strengthen the entire community. Whether you’ve already identified a partner for National Days of Service in 2025 or are just beginning the search, this interactive session is designed to equip you with the tools and strategies to cultivate relationships that will fuel future projects.

From materials to building out a detailed run of show, this session will equip you with the tools to lead your team smoothly and efficiently. We’ll dive into practical strategies for organizing team documents and key tips for keeping everything on track.

As we get close to executing the first project of 2025, Huddle Spaces are your go-to for collaboration, Q&A, and project preparation. These open sessions are designed to support you and your team as you fine-tune your plans, ensuring every detail is set for success. Whether you’re finalizing your volunteer roster, need guidance on logistics, or simply want to brainstorm with fellow leaders, these spaces are here to help you feel confident and connected. 

Drop in anytime during the session, ask questions, share best practices, and get real-time feedback from your peers and TMC staff! You must attend at least one huddle space to be eligible for an incentive.

Earners completed up to four hours of foundational virtual training gaining the knowledge, skills, and mindsets essential for veteran volunteer leaders to effectively engage, manage, and collaborate with volunteers, community partners, and key stakeholders. This was completed through Veteran Online Leadership Training.

Who can earn this badge:  Platoon Leaders (PL) and Platoon Leadership Team Members (PLT) 
Earners complete up to five hours of advanced virtual training gaining the knowledge, skills, and mindsets essential to lead a team of service-minded veterans to support the local community. This was completed through Veteran Online Leadership Training.

Who can earn this badge:  Platoon Leaders (PL)   
Earners gain vital skills to lead impactful service projects alongside community organizations in under-resourced areas. They recruit volunteers, manage relationships, and execute meaningful service projects, emerging as trained veteran community leaders poised to tackle local challenges. This is completed through in-person training or specified live virtual training.
